Yorkshire RFU has published the Youth Structured Season document for 2008/09. This shows all the key dates for cup, league and representative fixtures for the season. The document (pdf) can be viewed/downloaded here.

All junior training for this week has been cancelled due to the condition of the pitches and the heavy rain. U17’s to meet at 7.00pm for an indoor session on Tuesday.  U15’s to train on Wednesday at the club please bring tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

A decision on senior training will be taken this evening (Monday) and details posted.

Pitches at Mallorie Park are waterlogged so there will no training tonight. A decision will be made later about the potential cancellation of ALL junior training this week as the pitches were already in a poor state following last Thursday night’s training. The senior squad will have priority should the training pitch be available later in the week.

The Development Squad will meet indoors as planned in the new extension at 7.00 pm to discuss individual player development plans.

The U15 Yorkshire Cup match against Otley is off as the pitches are unplayable at both teams’ grounds.

We’ll try again on 6th January.

Following discussion with coaches from both clubs, the match is postponed.  The U15s will train at the Army pitch on Clotherholme Road.

This means there will be no training on the cub pitches tomorrow.

Ripon U15s travelled to Malton this Sunday and enjoyed a good victory, winning 31-12.

The squad were without seven regular players for various reasons but were still able to turn out a full team with some subs, due, in no small part, to some recent arrivals.  Whilst this was encouraging it did mean that those playing had never played nor trained with some of their team mates. and we almost needed introductions.

Huddersfield 5 Ripon 43

Ripon U15s had their best result of the season this weekend when visiting Huddersfield. An almost full squad turned out and showed what they can do in building on the good performances of last year. (more…)

Redcar 21 Ripon 26

Ripon Under 15’s travelled away to Redcar in the first round of the Yorkshire Cup on Sunday 14th October. The game was fiercely contested with the teams being evenly matched. Ripon conceded their first try in the first 3 minutes, but pulled themselves together to come out winners 26-21. (more…)
