The end of season finale for the under 11’s saw them travel to Darlington for their festival of junior rugby. Following the superb showing by the squad two weeks earlier when reaching the finals of the Tynedale 7’s and Driffield festival, on the same day, it was looking good for another strong performance. The under 11’s travelled to West Park Leeds to play both the home team and Moortown in what for Ripon was a successful trip to our West Yorkshire neighbours. Report below. (more…)

Sunday saw the visit of Harrogate to play the Yorkshire Cup semi final and in a close match it was the visitors who went away with the spoils. As in all the previous matches between these two teams it was another hard faught game with both sides playing good rugby throughout the match. Report below. (more…)

With Yorkshire Cup semi final matches looming for both sides it was the development squads turn take the field for a full match and stake their case for inclusion in the cup squad. Undaunted by facing up to a physically bigger squad Ripon showed just what depth we have at this age level and put in a superb performance. Match report below. (more…)

All junior training for this week has been cancelled due to the condition of the pitches and the heavy rain. U17’s to meet at 7.00pm for an indoor session on Tuesday. U15’s to train on Wednesday at the club please bring tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
A decision on senior training will be taken this evening (Monday) and details posted.

The draw has been made today and at last we have a home fixture…against…Harrogate!!
Match to be played on Sunday 03 Feb 2008 so lets have a good crowd down to cheer the squad all the way to the final

Once again Ripon under 11’s come through a very difficult tie against a strong Ilkley side to continue into the semi-final of the Yorkshire Cup. In a fantastic match dominated by two excellant defensive displays Ripon go through due to a 0-0 draw and being the away team. Match report below: (more…)

The Under 11’s finally made their long awaited debut in the Yorkshire Cup, and what a debut it was, travelling to Sheffield RUFC they handed the home team a 0-40 defeat to see them progress to the second round. A fantastic display by the whole squad, including all the players who didn’t make the 17 man squad but still travelled to support their team. Match report below: (more…)

Following the second cancellation of this fixture it has now been arranged for the 06.01.08 away at Sheffield. The whole squad are to travel as we will be playing a friendly match against the Sheffield squad as we did at Harrogate. In preperation for this we will be training on the 30.12.07 at Ripon usual time.

Ripon under 11’s took 22 players to the festival so ended up entering two teams playing 11 a side. Along with the two Ripon teams were Acklam and Thirsk.
The first match saw the two Ripon teams play each other. In yet another close match between these two teams there was nothing between the two with the Warriors leading at half time through a try by George Petts but the Gladiators equilising after the break through Will Grafton. With the draw a fair result the Gladiators went off to play Acklam whilst the Warriors took on Thirsk. (more…)
