The end of season finale for the under 11’s saw them travel to Darlington for their festival of junior rugby. Following the superb showing by the squad two weeks earlier when reaching the finals of the Tynedale 7’s and Driffield festival, on the same day, it was looking good for another strong performance. There is a presentation day this Sunday. We have arranged to have team Photo’s done which will be available to purchase. Can all players ensure that they wear their Ripon Match Kit. The presentations will take place as soon as Photographs are finished.

The under 11’s travelled to West Park Leeds to play both the home team and Moortown in what for Ripon was a successful trip to our West Yorkshire neighbours. Report below. (more…)

No training or games at the club tomorrow as the pitches are waterlogged.  Also no training at the Army camp as the pitches there are also waterlogged.

Ian has managed to get us a game on Sunday 17th March against Darlington at Darlinton. Meet at Club at 9.00 am. Anyone unavailable please contact David or Tom. This will be a hard match so we need a FULL turnout.

Congratualations to Jack Thomson who plays for Ripon under 15’s. Jack has been selected by Scottish Exiles, Yorkshire. Jack will play against Borders and Edinburgh over the weekend of 25/27th March. Good luck Jack but I’m sure with that blistering pace of yours you’ll do well.

Just to clear up any confusion, here are the fixtures (as we know it) for next Sunday.

Under 7’s-12’s all training at the Army camp. This follows the cancelling of the Junior festival and it is up to each individual team as to whether they train or have the day off for Mothers day!!

Under 13 Guisborough at home

Under 14 training at Army camp

Under 15 Huddersfield at home (duty team for catering etc)

Under 16 Selby at home

Under 17 Away fixture opposition tbc.

Hope this clears up any confusion, if not give Andy or Ian a ring.

No phone call from Malton by 08:40 so can only presume the games are on.

This morning’s Under 13’s (v Huddersfield) and Under 16’s (v Old Rishworthians) games are off due to frozen pitches.  The Under 17 game is still on for a 12.30 kick off and any Under 16’s who want a game are welcome to come along.
