It was a very spirited performance from the Hornblower’s who came out of the changing room fired up for the game. The atmosphere was great considering the past two games and the lads knew they ware in for a hard game as always from Knottingley. There was some fantastic opening tackling from the newly returned Dirk Von Dike who really set the pace over the whole game. Further tries were scored by Dave moss Blundell who powered over for two tries in the game and had a very good first game back after the cricket season. Dan Gravill continued his good form with a very good running game and really stood out at fullback there for was rewarded with a score. The next score was rewarded to the temporary skipper Bob who also converted four of the eight tries in the game. Adi Potter, Webster, Sykes and Bulmer also got over the white wash. Over all the boys really pulled it out the bag and was rewarded with a excellent win.

Well played boys. Way to make up for the devastating loss at the end of last season.
It’s certainly better than my experience this weekend. 5 hour away game in the crack dealing section of Washington D.C. (should have been 4, but we go lost). Four of us got there 15 minutes after kick-off and ran straight on (no 20 minute warm ups like a certain A. Potter), played in 86 degree heat with 16 man side (they had around 72 I think), and lost in the last minutes. At this point, I’m thinking, oh well, chin up, it happens, lets go to the afters and have a beer. The afters was at their club bar and was a charming place called “Ramrods”. There were posters on the wall for a weekly event call cuddle bears. The posters had a picture of two men built like Al Ross with their shirts off spooning. So to sum up, got lost, lost the game, nearly died from the heat, got sent to a gay bar.
I miss ripon…..
